Tim SHAW

Tim SHAW

Born in Belfast, Shaw came to England to study first at Manchester Polytechnic, then at Falmouth College of Art, where he received his BA (Hons) in Fine Art.

His catalogue entry for the Falmouth Art Gallery exhibition '20 Years of Contemporary Art' in 2000 states 'For the last four years Tim Shaw's work has been heavily influenced by a three month residency in Spain he received from the Delfina Studio Trust. His exhibition at Falmouth Art Gallery in 1999 of La Corrida - Dreams in Red, first shown in London at Duncan Campbell Fine Art in 1997, was a combination of traditional sculpture making and contemporary installation.'

Shaw is a tutor at Newlyn School of Art (2016).

His work has been shown at Rainyday Gallery, Penzance.

In 2018 Tim Shaw's 'Drummer', prominent since 2011 on Truro's Lemon Quay, was moved temporarily to the Eden Project, while refurbishment work is carried out at the Hall for Cornwall.
