The artist, designer and driving force behind the creation of the 'Restless Temple' at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, Penzance. A project which involved 15 years of research and planning, the structure was finally installed in 2015, and has delighted and intrigued visitors ever since.
Saunders describes the piece thus: 'Restless is about flexibility in the face of the mighty forces of Nature. It's about gravity and rules but also insecurity: pendulums interacting with a temple, symbol of a western civilization now teetering on the edge.'
'Restless Temple' was featured in The Guardian on 30 August 2018 as one of the 10 best outdoor art installations worldwide.
