A London painter exhibiting between 1881-1894 at the RA, SS etc, according to Wood, his address was in London in 1883, but by 1894 had moved to St Ives. Whybrow lists his presence on her artists' colony list for 1901-10, but this is some time after his exhibition dates appear to have halted.

He is known for painting rustic subjects and portraits, and his works include The Village Bakehouse (1888).
