The artist was born in Heywood, Rochdale, England and died in Southport, Sefton. Undoubtedly one of his masterpieces was Tropical House, Kew Gardens, which is available today in poster and reprint form.

In 1890 he exhibited From Newlyn to Penzance at the Atkinson Gallery, Manchester, indicating some time spent in Cornwall.  Please add to this biography if you have any further information.
