Liskeard Decorative & Fine Arts Society (LIDFAS) is a Member Society of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS).
Our area mainly covers South East and East Cornwall, where we aim to promote and preserve the arts. But members from other areas are always welcome to join us.
Our interests include:
Lecture programmes, study days, tours and day visits for our members.
Voluntary work in historic buildings like Mount Edgcumbe.
Recording churches and their contents such as our project at Quethiock Church.
Working towards developing the arts for the young people in the area.
Meeting others socially with similar interests.
We organise a programme of nine monthly lectures and two study days, on a wide range of decorative and fine arts subjects, by lecturers approved by NADFAS, who are all experts in their field. The subjects can range from paintings, sculpture, ceramics and silver to music, theatre, gardens and architecture. We also organise day visits and longer tours to places of artistic interest.
